What this covers

This policy describes how Highlands Ranch Champ, the artist project of Philip Rehberger, collects, uses, and retains information sent to our customer-care channels, including the SMS line at the number published on the contact page.

What we collect

When you text our customer-care line, we collect:

  • Your mobile phone number, in E.164 format.
  • The full text of messages you send to the line and any photos you attach.
  • Inquiry details you provide during the conversation — order numbers, shipping questions, show inquiries, anything else you share with us.
  • Carrier delivery metadata (message IDs, delivery status, carrier error codes) returned by the SMS carrier.

How we use it

The information above is used only to (a) reply to your inquiry, (b) follow up on order or shipping questions, and (c) route a conversation to a human team member when the request requires it. We do not use this information for any other purpose.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your mobile number or opt-in information to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data collected through the customer-care line are not made available to unaffiliated parties.

We do not send promotional or marketing messages through the customer-care line. We do not send unsolicited updates about new releases, shows, or merch — those announcements live on the website and in our standalone email newsletter, which has its own separate opt-in.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency on the SMS line is conversational and reply-only — a typical inquiry runs four to ten messages. Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier rates for SMS and MMS apply based on your mobile plan.

Opt-out

Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will receive a single confirmation message and will not receive further SMS from the customer-care line. The opt-out state is recorded per (mobile number, business number) pair and is permanent until you reply START to resume.

Retention

Conversation messages and attachments are retained for up to 18 months in operational storage, after which the message body is anonymized and attachments are deleted. Opt-out records are retained indefinitely as required by TCPA for dispute defense.

Security

All traffic between your device, our SMS provider, and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our database is hosted in a private subnet and is not exposed to the public internet. Attachments uploaded via MMS are re-encoded, EXIF metadata is stripped, and files are stored under random keys with private access controls.

Children

The customer-care line is not directed at and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. Do not text the line if you are under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy as our channels evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent change took effect.
