Highlands Ranch Champ is the music project of Philip Rehberger — a country / hip-hop hybrid built out of the everyday: school runs, craft tables, Lego floors, on the way to Goddard, and the rest of the suburban Colorado landscape that nobody else seems to be writing about.

The catalog blends narrative songwriting with modern independent rap production. Funny but polished. Authentic but entertaining. Made between the morning carpool and the two-A.M. Lego ambush.

Alongside the records is a parallel book project — illustrated chapter books that re-tell each Bedtime Stories album as a bedside story. Daddy opens the book at the bedside, four kids cast as characters, Daddy leaves the room at the close. Same kids every volume; only the costumes change — knight, astronaut, sea captain, samurai.
