Long ago in a kingdom far, where the mountains touch the sky
There lived a boy named Liam — eight years old and high
His armor old and dented, his horse a little slow
But the kingdom called the bravest one — and Liam said "I'll go"

The princess in the tower, the dragon at the door
Three knights had tried before him, three knights came home no more
The king said "Boy, are you sure? You're small and you're untrained"
Liam tightened up his helmet, hopped on his horse — and rode toward the pain

Rode three days through the forest, slept by the river deep
Bandits tried to stop him — he kept the watch, he wouldn't sleep
Sword shaking in his small hand, heart loud as a drum
But every morning he got back up — and toward the castle he'd come

The castle gate, the dragon's roar, the smoke up in the air
Liam off his horse, he walked the path, walked it like he didn't care
Dragon big as a barn door, fire on its tongue
Liam stopped, looked it in the eye — and said "You ain't won"

The dragon laughed and breathed the fire — Liam dodged behind a stone

Every move the dragon made, Liam ducked and Liam stood
He weren't faster, weren't stronger — but he showed up like he should

Five hours into the fight, the dragon getting tired
Liam still standing, helmet dented, but the boy still inspired
One last swing — the sword found home — the dragon down for good
Liam climbed the tower stairs and the princess understood

Rode back to the kingdom slow, the princess on the horse
King and queen at the gate — "We knew you'd find the course"
"How'd you do it?" — Liam shrugged, smile on his face
"I just didn't quit. I just kept my place."
